Background of the Scheme
The Subhadra Yojana was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhubaneswar on September 17, 2024. It financially empowers eligible women aged 21–60 from economically weaker sections. From FY 2024-25 to 2028-29, each beneficiary woman receives a total of ₹50,000, paid as ₹10,000 annually in two installments of ₹5,000 each — one around International Women’s Day (March) and one on Raksha Bandhan (August).
With this release, the Odisha government’s total Subhadra disbursement across five installments has crossed ₹25,800 crore. The scheme’s annual allocation stands at ₹11,000 crore, with ₹10,145 crore budgeted for it in 2026–27.
