Every state keeps making some welfare program for its residents so that the people living there can live a happy life. The state of Odisha is one of them which has launched a scheme called Subhadra Yojana so that the women there can bear the burden of the financial expenses of their household.
Subhadra Yojana Odisha is the state government’s flagship women-welfare scheme, launched on September 17, 2024, to give financial independence to women across all 30 districts. The scheme takes its name from Devi Subhadra, sister of Lord Jagannath, reflecting Odisha’s cultural commitment to honoring and empowering women.
Under the Subhadra Yojana scheme, every eligible woman receives a total of ₹50,000 over five years (2024–2029) — paid as ₹10,000 annually in two equal installments of ₹5,000 each. As of the 4th installment cycle, over 1.12 crore women across Odisha have already received their payments, making this one of the largest DBT-based welfare programs in the state.
Whether you’re looking to apply online, check your Subhadra Yojana status, find your name on the beneficiary list, or understand the eligibility criteria — this guide covers everything you need for 2026.
Subhadra Yojana Update: Odisha Fixes Date for 5th Installment Payout to Eligible Women
Unlike many state welfare schemes that are limited to cash transfers, the Subhadra Yojana is built around three excellent welfare pillars:
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) – The money reaches the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked bank account without any middleman.
- Digital financial inclusion — every beneficiary gets a dedicated Subhadra ATM-cum-debit card, and women who actively use digital payments earn an extra ₹500 reward.
- Timing of symbolic distribution – Payments are released twice a year, once on Raksha Bandhan (August) and the second time on International Women’s Day (March 8), linking the scheme to moments that celebrate womanhood in Odia culture.
To apply for the Sabhadra Yojana, the applicant must fulfill all of the following, otherwise he/she will be considered ineligible:
| Criteria | Requirement |
| Gender | Woman applicant only |
| Age | 21 to 60 years (age calculated as on 1 April of the application year) |
| Residency | Permanent resident of Odisha |
| Income proof | Must hold an NFSA or SFSS ration card, or have family income below ₹2.5 lakh/year with an income certificate |
| Bank account | Individual (not joint) bank account, Aadhaar-linked and DBT-enabled |

- You will not be eligible if you fall under any of the following categories:
- Either you or your spouse are income tax payers.
- Either you or your spouse are serving/former MPs or MLAs.
- Either you or your spouse are regular or contract government employees, or are drawing government pension
- Your household owns more than 5 acres of irrigated land (or equivalent unirrigated land)
- You already receive ₹1,500/month or more from another government financial assistance scheme
- Your household owns a four-wheeler that falls under the state’s prohibited vehicle category
Important exception: ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Community Resource Persons (CRPs), and outsourced government workers remain eligible even though they receive a government honorarium — provided they don’t fall under any other exclusion.

यह एक informational, unofficial tool है — यह सिर्फ अंदाज़ा (indicative estimate) देता है, final eligibility नहीं तय करता। कोई भी Aadhaar number, बैंक details या personal document यहाँ collect नहीं किया जाता। आधिकारिक (official) apply, status check और verification के लिए हमेशा सिर्फ Government of Odisha के official Subhadra portal — subhadra.odisha.gov.in — या अपने नज़दीकी Anganwadi Centre / Mo Seva Kendra / Block Office पर ही जाएं। Form कहीं भी free है, कभी पैसे न दें।
The following documents are required to be eligible for this program, otherwise you will be disqualified:
- Aadhaar Card (details must match exactly — Aadhaar data is treated as final in case of mismatch)

- NFSA/SFSS ration card or income certificate (issued by Tahasildar/BDO)
- Address proof (voter ID, ration card, or electricity bill)
- Recent passport-size photograph (mainly for offline applications)
- Active mobile number linked to Aadhaar (for OTP verification)
Tip: Scan or photograph all documents and save them in your phone or cloud storage before visiting the application center — this saves a repeat trip if something is missing.

Every applicant will have to complete e-KYC through face verification on the SUBHADRA mobile app using their Aadhaar number. This step is mandatory before the disbursement can begin — face-based e-KYC verification is now required for all 2026 installments, and if this step is pending, the disbursement can also be stopped for eligible women.
The Subhadra Yojana is opened periodically for online application rather than a single fixed date. The portal has been reopened several times for women who were previously ineligible due to age but have recently turned 21 or who missed their earlier chances of applying, with field verification of new applicants before each installment cycle. Always check subhadra.odisha.gov.in for the current application window before assuming that the scheme has closed.
- Payments are released twice a year: around International Women’s Day (March 8) and Raksha Bandhan (August)
- Each installment is ₹5,000, credited directly via DBT
- The scheme runs for five years per beneficiary, from 2024 to 2029, totaling ₹50,000
- 4th installment: Released on March 8, 2026 (International Women’s Day) — over 1.12 crore women received ₹5,000 each in a single DBT transfer
- 5th installment: Expected around Raksha Bandhan in August 2026, though the government hadn’t issued an official date as of this writing
- Beneficiaries enrolled since the scheme’s launch have received a cumulative ₹20,000 (four installments) out of the total ₹50,000 payable over five years
If your name is included in the beneficiary list but the payment is not happening, first check three things: whether your bank account is linked to Aadhaar, whether DBT is activated on the account, and whether it is a sole holder (not joint) account. If any of these points are missing, immediately visit your respective bank branch — see the DBT seeding section below for the correct steps.
If your Subhadra Yojana status shows “DBT Seeding Pending,” it means your Aadhaar card is not yet properly linked to your bank account for Direct Benefit Transfer, even though your application may already be approved. Here’s how to resolve it:

- Visit your bank branch in person — this usually requires physical verification, not a phone call
- Carry your original Aadhaar card and bank passbook
- Ask the bank staff specifically for “Aadhaar Seeding” or “NPCI Mapper Activation” — using these exact terms helps staff route your request correctly
- Request a written confirmation receipt as proof
- Allow 7–10 working days for the banking system to sync with the Subhadra portal
Note: Aadhaar linking (connecting Aadhaar to one or more bank accounts) is different from Aadhaar seeding (designating one single account to receive DBT payments). Only one account can be seeded at a time — make sure it’s a single-holder account, not joint.
An NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) rejected status means the system attempted your DBT transfer, but it bounced back because your Aadhaar isn’t seeded to your bank account, or your account is jointly held rather than single-holder. The fix is the same as above — visit your bank, complete Aadhaar seeding and DBT activation, and verify through the NPCI Mapper after about a week.
Tip: If your bank account is jointly held with your husband or another family member. It may fail DBT eligibility verification entirely. Opening a sole-name, zero-balance account at any PMJDY-linked bank (this typically takes a single day and costs nothing) prevents this issue from the start.

The Subhadra Yojana beneficiary list is republished on the official portal after each verification cycle. So it’s worth rechecking closer to each installment date if your name hasn’t appeared yet.
- Visit subhadra.odisha.gov.in and select “Beneficiary List”
- Choose your district, block, gram panchayat, and village from the dropdown menus
- Click “View” to open the PDF list for your area
- Use your browser’s search function (Ctrl+F) to find your name, Aadhaar number, or application ID — search exactly as it appears on your Aadhaar card
If your name isn’t on the current list, it may still be under verification. Applications typically move from “Under Process” to a final decision within 30–60 days, depending on your district’s field verification schedule.
Is Subhadra Yojana a one-time payment?
No. It is a five-year commitment (2024–2029), paying ₹10,000 every year in two installments, totaling ₹50,000 per beneficiary.
Can I apply if my husband is a government employee?
Generally no — unless you personally work as an ASHA worker, Anganwadi worker, CRP, or outsourced government staff, in which case you remain eligible despite the household honorarium.
What happens if my Aadhaar details don’t match my application form?
Aadhaar information is treated as final. It’s best to update any mismatched Aadhaar details before applying, rather than after submission.
Can I opt out of the scheme voluntarily?
Yes. Beneficiaries who don’t wish to receive the benefit can opt out through the Subhadra portal, redirecting the amount to support other eligible women.
What is the helpline number for Subhadra Yojana?
14678, operating Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Keep your 16-digit Application Reference Number ready when calling.
Do I need to reapply every year?
No — once enrolled and verified, you continue receiving installments for the full five-year period unless you become ineligible or opt out.
Where can I download the Subhadra Yojana form?
The application form is available free of cost at any Anganwadi Centre, Block Office, or Mo Seva Kendra — you don’t need to download or print it yourself, and no one should ever charge you for it.
Is there a verification deadline I need to worry about?
Once you submit your application, field verification and DLSC (District Level Selection Committee) review typically take 30–60 days. There’s no separate action needed from you during this period unless the portal specifically flags a document issue — check your status periodically instead.
What’s the difference between Subhadra Yojana registration and applying?
They refer to the same process — submitting your application either online through the portal (with CSC/VLE assistance) or offline at a Mo Seva Kendra. There’s no separate “registration” step beyond the application itself.
