Odisha MICE Incentive Portal 2026: Benefits & How to Apply Online

The Odisha government has launched a new online platform for the tourism and events industry — the Odisha MICE Incentive Portal. It was launched on 5 October 2026 by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who also holds the tourism portfolio, during the Odisha Travel Bazaar 2026 in Bhubaneswar. According to the state government, this is India’s first dedicated incentive portal for MICE — that is, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions.

The portal has two clear objectives: to promote Odisha as a destination for corporate conventions and large events, and to make it simpler for event organisers and tourism operators to apply for the financial incentives the state offers.

What Is the Odisha MICE Incentive Portal?

MICE tourism means organised group travel for professional and business purposes — company meetings, dealer meets, conferences, exhibitions and incentive trips. Until now, organisers hosting such events in Odisha had to navigate offline processes to claim state incentives. The new MICE Incentive Portal brings that process online in one place.

As described at the launch, Odisha is the first state in the country to set up a dedicated digital mechanism to market its destinations for corporate conventions and to streamline incentive applications from event organisers and tourism operators.

Launch Details: Date, Venue and Who Launched It

  • Launch date: 5 October 2026 (Sunday)
  • Launched by: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who holds the tourism portfolio
  • Occasion: 7th Odisha Travel Bazaar 2026, Bhubaneswar — during the stakeholder consultation on MICE and weddings on the second day of the event
  • Attended by: senior government officials and tourism industry leaders

Who Can Benefit from the MICE Incentive Portal

The portal is aimed at:

  • Event organisers planning conferences, exhibitions, corporate meetings or incentive trips in Odisha
  • Tourism operators and hospitality businesses hosting large group events
  • Wedding planners — destination weddings are a special focus area
  • Sports event organisers

Key Focus Areas of the MICE Initiative

At the launch, the Deputy Chief Minister said the government is working to speed up approvals for:

  • MICE events and corporate conventions
  • Destination weddings, including temple weddings
  • Sports events
  • Cultural and heritage-related tourism projects

The state is also promoting experiential tourism — local cultural experiences, Odia cuisine tours and heritage walks — so that visitors get more than conventional sightseeing.

Bhubaneswar Pitched as the ‘Temple City’ for Events

Parida highlighted Bhubaneswar, popularly known as the Temple City, as a key destination for heritage-based corporate and cultural events. Its historic temples and monuments, she said, can help the city emerge as a preferred location for distinctive events, especially for younger travellers.

How to Apply for MICE Incentives on the Portal

The portal is intended to simplify the incentive application process for organisers and operators. Since the platform was launched only on 5 October 2026, the detailed step-by-step application process, eligibility conditions and the list of covered incentives will be available on the official portal itself. This article will be updated as the Tourism Department releases the official guidelines.

The Bigger Picture: Odisha Travel Bazaar 2026

The MICE portal was one of several tourism announcements at the 7th Odisha Travel Bazaar:

  • Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the new Odisha Tourism website and the Odisha Tourism Investment Incentive Management System web application for investors.
  • The state has already disbursed more than Rs. 163 crore in capital subsidies for tourism investments.
  • The 2026 Bazaar drew 145 domestic operators from 32 cities and 45 foreign operators from 27 countries, with over 6,000 business meetings scheduled.
