What Is Subhadra Yojana
Subhadra Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhubaneswar on 17 September 2024. Under the scheme, eligible women aged 21 to 60 years receive ₹10,000 every year, paid in two equal instalments of ₹5,000 — one around Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi Purnima) and the other around International Women’s Day on 8 March. Over five years (2024-25 to 2028-29), a beneficiary receives a total of ₹50,000, credited directly to her Aadhaar-linked bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Approved beneficiaries also get a SUBHADRA debit card, and women among the top 100 digital-transaction users in their Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Body earn an extra ₹500.
Latest Update: Fifth Instalment Already Disbursed
Most guides currently online still describe the fifth instalment as “expected in August 2026.” That instalment has already been released. On 28 August 2026 (Rakhi Purnima), Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led the disbursement at an event in Lathipada, Nayagarh district, where over ₹5,160 crore reached 1,03,26,162 women, including 2,21,054 first-time beneficiaries who received all pending instalments in one go.
Ahead of this release, a preparatory review chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida (who also heads the Women and Child Development Department) noted that 1,15,75,633 applications had been registered in total, of which 3,17,966 were fresh applications for 2026-27. After verification, 1,02,04,396 women were identified as eligible, later revised to 1,01,99,119 after removing 5,277 beneficiaries confirmed deceased. As of July 2026, the scheme had already transferred more than ₹20,648 crore across four instalments to over one crore women.
If your status still shows pending from before 28 August 2026, it is worth checking again, since the disbursement round has already run.

- Bank passbook/statement: A successful payment appears as a credit entry from “SUBHADRA,” “GOVT OF ODISHA,” or “NPCI APB.”

What to Do If Your Status Is Rejected or Stuck
- Rejected: Visit your nearest Block Development Office (BDO) or Urban Local Body (ULB) office to check the rejection reason, usually a document or Aadhaar name/age mismatch, and resubmit corrected documents.
- No status update for 15+ days: Contact the helpline at 14678 or raise the issue at your nearest CSC or Mo Seva Kendra.
- Approved but no payment: Confirm your Aadhaar is NPCI-seeded with your bank branch; this step, separate from portal approval, is required for the DBT transfer to succeed.
